Why I want Windows back
I installed Ubuntu (a distrobution of linux) on my computer last night, I like the interface but I have some problems. It was late last night that I finished installing and I just turned my PC off and went to bed. When I got up I tried to start up using Windows but nothing happened. All of today I have been stuck using Ubuntu with its out of date pre-installed software. Firefox 1.0.8, that is 3 versions out of date. I also want to update GAIM from 1.5.0 to 2.0 beta 3, can I do it, can I hell as like.
Using Windows I can just download some file that ends in .exe or .msi and doble click on it. A window will pop open and I click ‘Next’Â a few times followed by ‘Finish’ and its done. With most distrobutions of Linux you have to download the source code and compile it if you are lucky. Most programs also require that you have Repositories which are bits of code that come with Linux but are not always installed with the system.
I have tried using Linux before (Mandrake) and I am beginning to remember exactly why I stopped using it, and as soon as I get Windows running again I am going back. I may not try using Linux again for a long, long time.
